The APN provides psychiatric services for patients within a psychosocial milieu, applying evidence-based practice and maintaining an individual level of knowledge and experience. The APN assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge using available resources and programs. Required Licenses and Certifications Current NJ APN license NP Certification CDS required DEA required RN required BLS required Scheduling Requirements Day Shift 40 hours 4-5 days per week Essential Functions Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, intakes, and consults, maintaining a case load and all pertinent clinical documentation. Ensure knowledge of the patient population served and adherence to ethical standards as defined by the ANA Code of Ethics. Maintain safety in practice and apply evidence-based principles, fostering knowledge advancement through communication with the patient care team and resources. Provide advanced nursing care based on graduate education and extensive experience with behavioral health patients and families. Collaborate with physicians, clinicians, case managers, and other health care professionals. Practice in accordance with the NJ Board of Nursing, NJSA 13:37 regulations for advanced practice nurses. Perform duties independently following established procedures and refer questionable situations to a physician. Deliver behavioral health care through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, clinical judgment, and management to restore, maintain, and improve patient health status.
