Job Opportunity At Redfield Community Memorial Hospital And ClinicRedfield Community Memorial Hospital and Clinic is seeking a qualified individual to join our team!Position HighlightsThe Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides care and medical management to inpatients and outpatients of Community Memorial Hospital and Redfield Clinic. The Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are supervised by MDs on active staff. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant role is primarily medical and interdisciplinary management of patients and families through the continuum of care.Provides services in compliance with the South Dakota Board of Nursing, the South Dakota Board of Medical Examiners, and the Nursing & Medical Staff by-laws of Community Memorial Hospital.Services and daily activities are to be provided in such a way that they support the mission and philosophies of Community Memorial Hospital.Significant Duties And Functions:Admission history and physicalWrite or give verbal orders for any of the following:Routine admission, laboratory, and diagnostic studiesGeneral patient care measures, including diet, activity, intake & output, routine vital signsPatient care and treatment according to State/Federal LawsMay prescribe medications as provided in State and federal law.Counsel the patient on preventative care, medical problems, exercise, and the use of prescribed treatments and drugs.May assist or initiate care in life-threatening emergency situations.May perform standard clinical procedures within Scope of Practice.Assist the supervising Physician in technical and surgical hospital procedures, per hospital guidelines.In the absence of the supervising Physician, the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible to the alternate supervising Physician(s) as designated.Written and dictated progress, history and physical, discharge notes, and medical orders will be reviewed and signed as directed in institution by-laws.Teaching of Family Practice residents, nursing staff and office personnel.
