Summary:
-
Seeking experienced Systems Engineers for next-gen autonomous aircraft development.
-
Contributions include the record-breaking Orion, AACUS (autonomous helicopter), a flying taxi, and the Odysseus solar aircraft.

Involvement includes aircraft design, requirements definition, safety analyses, and certification processes.
-
May support verification and flight testing activities for aircraft and subsystems.

Programs use a blend of traditional and model-based systems engineering approaches.
-
Apply interdisciplinary, collaborative approaches to plan, design, develop, and verify systems and solutions.
-
Define and coordinate system performance requirements, ensuring compatibility across all interfaces.
-
Perform analyses to optimize system architecture for affordability, safety, reliability, and more.

Conduct analyses for maintainability, survivability, security, certification, and mission success.

Manage requirements, risk, issues, and technology readiness assessment processes.
-
Resolve cross-functional technical issues.

Define concepts of operations (CONOPS) and refine existing ones for proposed programs.

Define top-level system requirements and track verifiable milestones.
-
Familiarity with Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including use case and behavioral diagram development.

Support generation of safety-related artifacts (FHAs, FTAs, FMEAs, FMECAs) per SAE ARP4761 and MIL-STD-882E.

Experience with FAA aircraft certification processes is helpful, but not required.

Familiarity with MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo) and IBM Rational DOORS is preferred.
