Are you a friendly and motivated individual who loves working with children and teens? Look no further! Join our team at Missoula Pediatric Dentistry, a busy practice, as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant. We are seeking someone who enjoys hands-on treatment and is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.

As a member of our team, you will work in a fast-paced office where maintaining a positive attitude and delivering superior customer service are crucial. In this full-time position, you will have the opportunity to utilize your relevant orthodontic experience, although it is not required.

JOB SUMMARY: As an Orthodontic Dental Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to provide clinical care and ensure a positive experience for our patients. This includes welcoming patients, seating them, reading their charts, and setting up for the doctor. You will check patients' treatment progress, advise the doctor on oral health, and address any questions or concerns. Proficiency in fitting orthodontic bands, tying arch wires, taking impressions, and assisting in cementing bands and bonding brackets is required. Attention to detail and effective communication with patients to educate and motivate them throughout the treatment process are essential.

Requirements

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Orthodontic and/or Dental experience and clinical proficiency with a variety of orthodontic appliances is preferred, although not required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in fitting bands and brackets, tying arch wires, and taking consistent, accurate impressions.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Desire and ability to learn new skills and work well with a team.
