Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated After-School Counselor to join our team. The After School Fun is an after-school recreation program for children in grades Kindergarten Seventh. Activities include organized games, sports, crafts, snack time, gym time, outdoor time, swimming, and more. The staff members are responsible for the supervision of the children and planning of daily activities.
Starting Date: Immediate openings until filled (school begins September 4th)
Current hires will train in our summer programs.
Program Time: 2:30pm 6:30PM Monday-Friday while school is in session. (Availability every day not required.)

Hours: Hours may vary.
Flexible scheduling with school and other employment.
Additional opportunities exist in other departments, programs or events.

Locations: Perinton Community Center, 1350 Turk Hill Rd., Fairport NY 14450
Will obtain experience in the following areas:
Planning and implementing daily camp activities
Providing positive behavioral supports and modifications
Ability to organize equipment and supplies
First Aid and CPR Certification
Accident/incident report completion
Ability to enforce rules and policies of the Recreation and Parks Department
Conflict resolution
Team collaboration and how to be a team player
Organization of supplies and equipment
Being a positive role model in the life of children at summer camp
Qualifications: Previous experience supervising children preferred. CPR/AED Certification preferred. All candidates must have a caring and compassionate attitude along with good communication and people skills. Education: Sports and Recreation, Childhood Education, Special Education, Psychology, Recreational Therapy, Physical Education majors preferred.
Babysitting experience or childcare background for understanding child development.
