Job Title: Youth Development Professional
Job Summary: We are seeking positive, team-oriented individuals who are passionate about making a difference! Work directly with an assigned group of approximately 20 teens, acting as a positive adult role model, coach, and mentor.
KEY ROLES (Job Responsibilities):
- Must have a genuine interest in the growth, development, and provision of a safe and nurturing environment for the youth you work with.
- The ability to establish authority through leadership, communication, and most importantly patience, will be required in giving our youth the stability and nurturing atmosphere they need to succeed.
- Ensure that youth reach their potential by expressing a tremendous amount of hard work, flexibility, and commitment. Youth Development Professionals MUST be available to work Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Wednesdays from 12:15 pm to 6:00 pm The After-school program operates from the time school ends to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, not including school holidays.
Boys & Girls Club of Westminster Youth Development Professional ASES PRIDE
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. Required
- Completion of 48 college units
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth and teens
- Ability to speak and write standard English appropriately in a public-school setting
- Active adult, able to play outdoor games with kids, keep score, supervise
- May need to lift 40 pounds
- Bi-lingual Vietnamese and Spanish speakers encouraged to apply!
- Must pass Live Scan/Background Check
- Some experience working with a group of 20 or more students in a classroom setting, after school, or recreation environment preferred
- Compensation: $18.00 -$18.50 per hour depending on education and experience
- This is a part-time job working both indoors and outdoors at a public-school location
- This is a non-benefited, non-exempt 2023-2024 Huntington Beach School Year position
- This is at a non-profit organization
