Position Description
We are seeking to hire a seasoned Agile Program Manager to join our team. This role will drive the end-to-end delivery of strategic projects and guides these complex projects from inception through delivery and support, working in close partnership with IT, IT Finance, and business leaders. This role is in charge of defining objectives, creating plans to achieve objectives, creating project budgets, tracking progress against objectives and budgets, driving execution of key projects and programs, coaching project team members and improving Agile project management processes.
This opportunity will consider remote candidates. However there is expectation that the selected candidate will work U.S. East Coast hours.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Responsible for overall Scaled Agile ways of working facilitation. Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering continuous exploration processes and coaching that drives the synthesis of the Vision, Roadmap, Releases, and Backlogs, through Pre- and Post-PI Planning events. Facilitate the coordinated preparation and execution of release planning for the ART. Working with the ART team who prioritizes the features to be considered in the next program increment (PI) planning cycle and facilitating the ART teams refinement of features to be considered in the next PI planning cycle to meet the Feature Definition of Ready. Facilitate all program-level events, including PI Planning, Inspect and Adapt workshops, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, and other relevant ART-level syncs. Summarizes Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives (the RTE) ensuring everything rolls up to the Vision and OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), for strategic execution alignment.
Drive agility and improvement by managing risks and dependencies, escalates impediments to ensure value delivery. Proactively and consistently communicates with the team, business owners, and leaders to ensure all impacted stakeholders understand risks, issues, and activities related to the value stream. Manage and improve the flow of value through value streams by assessing and optimizing the practices associated with the team (DevOps, Product Owners, Security, Architecture, etc.) in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline.
Functions as a servant leader fostering Lean-Agile Continuous Delivery, promoting and coaching Lean-Agile principles, empowering individual teams to become self-managing, and fulfill their cross-functional potential. Providing ad-hoc coaching and guidance to SMs, POs, and individual team members
Contributes to strategic planning meetings and provides guidance and expertise on options, risk, cost vs. benefits, and impacts on departmental processes. Partners effectively with the portfolio manager, finance team, and other stakeholders to build strong lean business cases for product funding / budgets.
Participate in Portfolio and Program Management process improvement and standardization activities.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile Certifications (preferred)
Minimum 6 years experience in project management with at least 4+ years as a Release Train Engineer, Program Manager, or Delivery Lead
SAFe Agile Experience a plus
Must have project financial and budgeting experience, must be proficient with CapEX and OpEx categorization at the project activity level.
Proven track record of leading agile transformations by successfully coaching and transitioning teams, programs, and portfolios at all organizational levels, including senior leadership
Experience with vendormanagementand vendor package implementations
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of Industry IT Project Execution Methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall and Scrum.
Strong financials experience including but not limited to creating, tracking and managing a budget
Proficiency with MS Project and JIRA
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience In Managing Customer Facing Projects Preferred
Ability to influence without authority, be an effective negotiator, and communicate with various organizational levels, including cross-functionally, at the frontline, and with senior leadership
Demonstrate high level of interpersonal skill used to build relationships and manage conflict within the team, business unit, and cross-functionally. Well-developed capacity for emotional intelligence
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
