THE POSITION

Cambria County is seeking a professional full-time Aging Case Aide 1. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life of older citizens of Cambria County by promoting their well-being, dignity, independence, and safety through compassionate sponsorship of social service programs for aging adults. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Aging Case Aide 1, you will be responsible for assisting Care Managers in providing information and referral services to senior citizens to help them better understand community resources available to meet their individual needs. You will be required to have a working knowledge of the physical, cultural, and social environment of the geographical area or program to establish a rapport with the elderly to foster utilization of services. Supervision is received from a professional superior and evaluated by direct observation and an evaluation of results. Responsibilities and duties include:
  • Providing Aging Services including information and referral services to older adults
  • Conducting preliminary intake and needs to make referrals
  • Completing documentation in the database
  • Making home or other visits with older adults or families
  • Creating comprehensive files
  • Transporting consumers to appointments utilizing agency vehicle
  • Performing administrative duties

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year of public contact work, which involved obtaining or providing information; or
  • Any equivalent of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency.
  • Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Cambria County. If no eligible candidates who live within Cambria County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
