Agricultural|Animal Associate II - Edisto REC, Blackville, SC Apply
Executes and maintains research projects and Extension demonstrations by following established protocols. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
60% - Essential - Project Management:
Establishes, maintains, and completes assigned research projects and Extension demonstration plots as directed by project scientists. Apply inputs (fertilizer, pesticide, irrigation, etc.) to trials and demonstrations as directed or needed. Manages and coordinates projects from initiation through completion.
20% - Essential - Data Management and Record keeping:
Accurately records, maintains, and organizes data from research and Extension projects as assigned. Provide data summaries to project scientists.
10% - Essential - Personnel Management:
Direct and train hourly workers as instructed by project scientists. Assist graduate students in the execution of their research projects. Assist in lab activities as instructed by scientists.
5% - Essential - Equipment and Work Space Maintenance:
Maintains and calibrates equipment to ensure that it is in good operating condition.
Keeps work areas clean, safe, and productive. Assist in organizing, maintaining clean field labs.
5% - Essential - Other Duties:
Completes additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree - Animal husbandry, agriculture or a related field and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. Work experience that is directly related to the area of employment may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis
Licenses - Drivers License Class D normal < 26,000
Work Experience 1+ years - Some experience with operating agricultural equipment (tractors, sprayers, planters, etc.)
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree - Agronomy/Horticulture or other ag-related field
Work Experience 2+ years in farming or in supporting farm operations
Drivers license class D normal <26,000
Pesticide Applicator License

WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard Hours: 37.5; Expected Salary Range ($37,900 - $45,000)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including but not limited to a candidates previous experience, knowledge, skills, job performance and internal equity.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
