DSV - Global transport and logistics Location: USA - Itasca, N Arlington Heights Rd Division:Air & Sea The Air Export Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the export process for air cargo, including coordination with freight forwarders, airlines, customs brokers, and other service providers. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as a deep understanding of airfreight logistics and regulations. Duties and Responsibilities Oversee the air export process, including preparation of shipping documents, customs clearance, and booking with air carriers Coordinate with freight forwarders, airlines, customs brokers, and other service providers to ensure efficient and timely delivery of cargo Manage relationships with customers, vendors, and other third-party service providers to ensure the highest level of service and customer satisfaction Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and quality of service delivery Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs, improve service quality, and enhance customer satisfaction Monitor and report on key performance indicators, such as cargo delivery times, costs, and quality Educational background / Work experience A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is required At least 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is required Prior experience in air exports and supervisory experience is highly desirable Skills & Competencies Excellent leadership and communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment Supervisory Responsibilities (if any) This role typically involves supervising a team of air export coordinators and other support staff Preferred Qualifications Experience with leading air cargo logistics software and systems Familiarity with airfreight regulations, customs requirements, and export controls Knowledge of airline routes and schedules Language skills Fluency in English is required Knowledge of additional languages is a plus Computer Literacy Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Experience with logistics software and systems is required At Will Employment DSV Air & Sea Inc. employees are hired for an undefined period of time as at will employees.
