JOB TITLE: Aircraft Structural Mechanic I - 1st Shift

LOCATION: Tulsa, OK

PAY RATE: $21.21 per hour

Qualifying Questions:

Details:

  • 12-month contract with opportunities for extension

Summary:

  • Work in a team-oriented environment under moderate supervision to perform structural assembly operations in a production setting.

  • Assemble and fit parts/structures, ensuring compliance with FAA standards and company quality requirements.

  • Perform drilling, riveting, and other operations using tools like pneumatic guns, drills, countersinks, and rivet shavers.

  • Read and follow work orders, blueprints, and operation sheets for sequencing and specifications.

  • Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure defect-free assemblies.

  • Use resource planning systems to log daily labor against work orders.

  • Align and secure parts using jigs, clamps, and fasteners.

  • Maintain clean work areas, support the 5S Program, and adhere to safety regulations.

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities (e.g., Kaizen events).

  • Maintain and care for shop tools and equipment.

  • Comply with all safety rules and perform other tasks as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 1 year of structural assembly experience (credit given for Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Technical Certificate graduates).

  • Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of aircraft structures, sheet metal, and fabrication processes.

  • Ability to read blueprints, interpret 6" scales, and perform basic shop math.

  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and reading/writing in English.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders/stairs, and work in confined spaces.

  • Work any shift as needed.

  • Familiarity with composite resins and materials.

  • Strong attention to detail, professional attitude, and ability to meet demanding schedules.

  • Hands-on aptitude and adherence to safety and housekeeping practices are essential.
