JOB TITLE: Aircraft Structural Mechanic I

LOCATION: Tulsa, OK

PAY RATE: $21.21 per hour

Qualifying Questions:

  • Are you a US person as noted in the Job description?

  • Do you meet the job's educational and experience requirements?

  • Can you either commute to the job location or relocate for the position?

Details:

  • 12-month contract with opportunities for extension

  • 1st shift

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage through Cigna

  • Potential for bonuses

  • As a Tier One supplier We have priority!

  • 1,000's of openings nationwide

Summary:

  • Assemble and fit detail parts and structures while performing varied drilling and riveting operations to ensure that parts and assemblies meet requirements.

  • Rivet structural assemblies and parts using necessary tools (e.g., portable riveting guns, pneumatic guns, pneumatic drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets).

  • Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine the sequence of operations, type, size, and hole pattern for rivets.

  • Check all work to ensure a defect-free assembly prior to final inspection.

  • Maintain and utilize all logs and records (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs).

  • Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.

  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company's 5S Program, and comply with all safety regulations.

  • Work under moderate supervision on assigned duties and tasks.

  • Support Lean Activities and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • One (1) year of related structural assembly experience.

  • Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.

  • One year of experience credit may be granted for graduates of the Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Technical Certificate Program.

  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints.

  • Ability to read and interpret a 6" scale.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Must be able to read a scale and perform basic shop math.

  • Ability to read and comprehend basic documents and instructions.

  • Strong personal skills, including an aptitude for hands-on craftwork, a professional attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively to meet demanding schedules.

  • Demonstrated good housekeeping and safety practices.

  • Ability to work with composite resins and materials.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to work any shift.

  • Ability to climb ladders, stands, and stairs, and work in small spaces and/or restricted areas.
