Summary:
-
Assemble and fit detail parts and structures while performing varied drilling and riveting operations to ensure that parts and assemblies meet requirements.

Rivet structural assemblies and parts using necessary tools (e.g., portable riveting guns, pneumatic guns, pneumatic drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets).

Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine the sequence of operations, type, size, and hole pattern for rivets.

Check all work to ensure a defect-free assembly prior to final inspection.

Maintain and utilize all logs and records (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs).

Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.

Maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company's 5S Program, and comply with all safety regulations.

Work under moderate supervision on assigned duties and tasks.

Support Lean Activities and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
-
High School Diploma or GED required.
-
One (1) year of related structural assembly experience.
-
Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.
-
One year of experience credit may be granted for graduates of the Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Technical Certificate Program.

Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints.
-
Ability to read and interpret a 6" scale.
-
Basic computer skills.
-
Must be able to read a scale and perform basic shop math.

Ability to read and comprehend basic documents and instructions.

Strong personal skills, including an aptitude for hands-on craftwork, a professional attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively to meet demanding schedules.

Demonstrated good housekeeping and safety practices.
-
Ability to work with composite resins and materials.
-
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
-
Must be able to work any shift.
-
Ability to climb ladders, stands, and stairs, and work in small spaces and/or restricted areas.
