JOB TITLE: Aircraft Structural Mechanic II

LOCATION: Savannah, GA

PAY RATE: $25.65 per hour

Qualifying Questions:

  • Can you either commute to the job location or relocate for the position?

Details:

  • 12-month contract with opportunities for extension

  • Requires on-site interview

Summary:

  • Performs various structural assembly tasks in a production department, ensuring all work meets required standards.

  • Assemble and fit detail parts and structures; perform drilling and riveting operations while ensuring all assemblies meet requirements.

  • Rivet structural assemblies using tools such as pneumatic guns, drills, and reamers.

  • Remove fasteners without damaging structures.

  • Follow work orders, blueprints, sketches, and operation sheets to determine the sequence of operations and hole patterns.

  • Inspect all work to ensure defect-free assemblies before final inspection.

  • Maintain records (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs, PCOs) and perform repairs based on Discrepant Material Tags (DMT) and Production Change Orders (PCO).

  • Align and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, and fasteners.

  • Maintain a clean work area, support the 5S program, and comply with all safety regulations.

  • Work independently on tasks and support Lean manufacturing initiatives.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • 2 years of related structural assembly experience.

  • Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Skilled in close-tolerance work and using specialized tools.

  • Proficiency in solving dimensional problems using mathematical formulas.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow directions and meet schedules.

  • Ability to work with composite resins and materials.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

  • Ability to work any shift.
