We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

Summary:

  • The Aircraft Structures Mechanic will maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures, components, and related systems.

  • This includes troubleshooting and repairing flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, engines, and mechanical components. The role requires expertise in interpreting blueprints, manufacturer manuals, and technical data, as well as using precision tools to perform structural modifications and repairs

  • Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, fastening, sealing, painting, shimming, and structural preservation.

  • Locate blind holes and perform modifications per engineering drawings, retrofit requirements, and process specs.

  • Access and manipulate computer systems daily for work instructions, drawings, and discrepancy reporting.

  • Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level modification and repair.

  • Guide and support lower-level technicians during modifications and maintenance.

  • Operate forklifts, mobile cranes, and powered elevating equipment.

  • Maintain certifications and permits as required.

  • Work variable shifts, weekends, holidays, scheduled/unscheduled overtime as mission demands.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • 4+ years of on-aircraft heavy structures experience (please list aircraft platforms and years of experience on your resume).

  • 4+ years of experience in heavy structures, non-porous metals (aluminum, titanium, stainless), and working from schematics/drawings/specifications.

  • Hands-on experience with close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation of critical structures (doublers, triplers, seat tracks, planks, stringers, etc.).

  • Ability to obtain customer approval for aircraft access (dual citizenship or prior citizenship of another country may preclude access).

  • Regular and predictable attendance required.

  • Skilled with structures tools (drills, rivet guns, countersink cages, adapters, hole finders, etc.).

  • Proficient in troubleshooting, shop mathematics, and computer systems (aircraft systems and office software).

  • Ability to obtain customer access approval (background check required: financial, employment, drug, military, and criminal history).

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Physical Requirements:

  • Climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift up to 35 lbs (team lift >50 lbs).

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, overhead reaching, and ladder/stand climbing.

  • Exposure to noise, metals, solvents, elevated platforms; PPE required.

  • Pass visual acuity and color perception tests.

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with VIP or specialty aircraft interiors (within the last 10 years).

  • Depot level/heavy structures maintenance experience.

  • Experience with Executive Fleet Platforms.

  • FAA A&P certification preferred.
