Airport Design Engineer Apply
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assembling engineering plans, specifications, and engineer's estimate
- AutoCAD Civil 3D Design and Drafting
- Communication with project teams
- Use of Basic Office Products Outlook, Excel, Word, Bluebeam Studio / PDF Editor
- Aircraft movement modeling and analysis
- Airport design not limited to runways, aprons, taxiways, hardstands, terminal facilities Design of different areas within airport construction such as platforms, terminal buildings, control towers etc.
- Civil design for airport improvements not limited to grading, storm drain, lighting, pavement, striping
- Development of supplemental documents such as reports, studies, technical memos, and other planning documents
- Assisting with project bidding, permitting, and construction as needed
- Site visits to observe project progression
- Potential for travel to remote Alaskan communities
- Preparation of various studies and models such as feasibility studies (technical and economic feasibility), aeronautical safety studies, planning studies, airport management models etc.
- Participation in the design of special airport systems such as airfield ground lighting or apron floodlighting, A-VDGS, etc.
- Any other tasks assigned by management relating to primary area of responsibility.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Has exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related degree.
- A master's degree in an aviation related field is a plus for this position.
- 3 years minimum experience in Airport Design.
- Licensed professional engineering license in Alaska and/or Washington or ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire.
- Experience with Civil 3D, Avi Plan, FAARFIELD, FAA Advisory Circular Standards, and related software is a plus.
