Location: Bethel, AK 99559

Assignment Start Date: 10/29/2024

Shift: Day & Night, Shift

Salary Range: $68,036.80 to $88,447.84

To provide quality nursing care to all patients. To serve as a viable member of the nursing staff, utilizing the scope of practice. Provide care to all patients concerning patient rights and dignity. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on assigned areas

May be responsible for working in conjunction with Health Aides to ensure rooms are stocked and check-lists are completed. May assist in ordering medical supplies. While not taking calls as a first responder, will be requested to screen calls over the phone and may be required to assist the mid-levels in the clinic after hours.

Applies age-specific considerations and cultural diversity when rendering patient care.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

Experience:

  • New graduates accepted.
  • Preferred one-year hospital experience.

Education:

  • Graduate from an LNL school for LPNs or LVNs.

Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registration:

  • Must be licensed as an LPN in the State of Alaska in good standing.
  • Current CPR certification (BCLS) is required.
  • IV certification course.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification.Preferred

COVID: All Travelers are required to show proof of completed COVID Vaccinations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Office machines (i.e., multi-line telephones, computers, copy machines, etc).
  • Medical equipment as appropriate (dynamapp, thermometer, etc)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to work in the patient care setting.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric patients.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and other medical staff as part of a collaborative team. Able to participate in special committees as appropriate, and serve as a professional representative of the physical therapy department and profession at all times. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, medical staff, managers, clients, and the general public. Ability to communicate effectively with members of a different culture who may or may not speak English.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
