13 weeks | Days | 8-hour shift |40 hours per weekly guaranteed
The Estimated Weekly Total is based on working the listed hours per week and includes available stipend amounts. Please get in touch with a recruiter for full details.Uses a holistic approach in the provision of medical social services to patients and their families to assist in solving or ameliorating physical, social, emotional, and/or environmental problems which retard or prevent patients from attaining or retaining optimum health. Social services are provided to people of all ages, from intra-uterine through the elderly.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION
Experience:
- One (1) year experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is required
Education:
- MSW (Master of Social Work) from an accredited school of Social Work is required
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registration:
- State of Alaska license at Master's level (LMSW) required or eligibility.
- A valid Alaska State driver's license is required.
EMR System: experience preferred
Shift: Days
Vaccination Requirement: All COVID-19 vaccinations are required at the time of submission.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of computer use.
- Prefer experience working in cross-cultural settings with bilingual language skills in English & Yup'ik.
- Ability to read, comprehend & write at the college level & effectively present information in one-on-one & group situations to patients/clients, agencies, communities, & other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply/divide in all units of measure, with whole numbers, common fractions, & decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw/interpret bar graphs.
- Should be able to perform supervisory tasks when the supervisor is away, and work independently and in collaboration with another social worker.
