Export Specialist :
This position is responsible for transportation planning and the daily export operations for assigned regions. This role interfaces with BDX/Bard affiliates, freight forwarders, DCs, plants, resolves discrepancies, and proactively identifies improvement opportunities. Monitors, measure, and reports key performance Indicators on adherence to regulations and procedures in the conduct of export.
Responsibilities:
Manage and execute export shipments from distribution centers on a timely manner for the assigned regions.
Team up with WW Business, Regions, and Carriers to generate efficiencies and process improvements in transit duration.
Proactively communicates with customer and planners regarding order status, product availability, product information, credit status, and regulatory issues.
Coordinates activities with supply chain, warehouses, traffic and other BD departments and locations, as needed, to ensure timely shipments of orders.
Ensure export procedures/processes are utilized as designed by BD plants, 3PL s and logistics providers.
Plans, coordinates, and optimizes deliveries in TMS/SAP/JDE
Troubleshoot EDI transactions
Resolve discrepancies, mitigate risks & implement process improvements on shipment process, transportation, monitors GLPs on time performance and daily KPI reports in SAP.
Provides training to new Customer Service Representatives and Specialists.
Acts as a resource to other department members regarding policies and procedures, and customer, product and regulatory information.
Has been cross trained on other accounts/territories to assist with workloads, and to provide coverage during vacations/absences.
Is adaptable and available to accept new assignments, or assist in other areas or departments, as required.
Basic Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Adept at setting priorities, meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks. Proficiency in standard business computer applications.
Problem solving and decision-making skills
Strong teamwork
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor s degree in a related discipline. A strong background in a related international/export role may be considered in lieu of education.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role (export, logistics, transportation, customer service, etc.).
Prior experience in a related industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, FDA regulated).
Minimum of 2-3 years experience with ERP systems (SAP, ECC, GTS, JDE), EDI transactions, transportation/warehouse management systems.
