Title: AP/AR Accountant
Hours: 8-5 M-F

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Reviews and/or processes billing/invoicing and enters data into the accounting databases. Submits cash applications to the vouchers/invoices. Researches and resolves accounts receivable issues.
- Analyzes records of financial transactions to determine accuracy and completeness of entries
- Assist in the closing of the Monthly Variance Report. Analyzes accounting variances and prepares variance explanation reports.
- Prepares and/or reviews projections of accounting data to show the effects of proposed changes on income and financial condition.
- Maintains, records, and reconciles billings and accounts receivable
- Examines financial statements and documents for conformance with accounting requirements and principles.
- Assist with month-end accounting entries and reconcile discrepancies, post to GL, and review variances to budget.
- May be required to read and interpret contracts, legal documents, and other agreements. Ability to record complex business transactions in the general ledger.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Must Have Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
- Ability to effectively present information.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and interact effectively with management, employees, representatives of federal and state governments, and external auditors.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data and prepare clear, concise financial reports.
- Must have the ability to convey complex financial issues to non-financial users.

Financial Knowledge:
Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations. Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate to advanced figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts intermediate to advanced financial analysis. Advanced understanding of accounting and bookkeeping concepts. Ability to assist with budget and forecast preparation. Follows accounting practices to ensure optimum client satisfaction while guaranteeing *** financial interests are protected.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience. 2-3+ years professional-level accounting experience.

Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate to advanced analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Other Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite applications. Ability to design and produce various ad-hoc reports. Advanced knowledge of computer applications related to real estate accounting or financial management systems.

Scope of Responsibility:
- Decisions made with an understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact on co-workers and the supervisor. Able to solve problems and deal with a variety of options in varying situations.

Summary:
As an AP/AR Accountant, you will be responsible for all aspects of the accounts receivable and payable process. Responsible for the medium to complex accounting activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts and for developing financial statements and reports. May provide functional advice or training to less experienced accountants or co-workers.
