Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field, Adapted Physical Education (APE) certification, and 1+ years Adaptive PE Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A 4-week contract opportunity is available for an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to support an extended school year program in Piedmont, CA. This role focuses on delivering tailored physical education services to students with diverse abilities, promoting inclusivity and physical wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement adaptive physical education curriculum that meets individual student needs.
  • Assess students physical capabilities and develop personalized activity plans.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to support student progress.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all participants during physical activities.
  • Monitor student achievements and prepare reports documenting progress.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure in Physical Education or Adaptive Physical Education.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities and knowledge of adaptive physical education methods.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with educational teams and families.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students in physical activity at varying levels.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
