About the Role:

We are looking for a highly experienced API Architect to lead the design, governance, and evolution of enterprise-scale API ecosystems supporting banking and financial services platforms. This role is critical to driving digital transformation through secure, scalable, and standards-driven API architectures for mission-critical systems.

This position requires deep technical expertise, strong architectural vision, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, security, and business teams.

Key Responsibilities:

API Design & Architecture

  • Design and govern REST, GraphQL, XML, and event-driven (AsyncAPI) architectures
  • Define API contracts, schemas, versioning, and lifecycle standards
  • Drive API-first development and developer experience (DX) initiatives
  • Lead PoCs and architectural patterns for modern integration strategies

Integration & Microservices

  • Architect API & messaging patterns using Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.
  • Design scalable microservices and event-driven architectures
  • Configure and optimize API gateways (AWS API Gateway, Kong, MuleSoft, etc.)

Cloud & DevOps

  • Architect cloud-native API solutions on AWS
  • Enable CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, Maven, Sonar
  • Implement observability using Splunk, AppDynamics, Prometheus

Governance & Security

  • Establish API governance frameworks & best practices
  • Enforce security models using OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory & security standards
