Job Title: Application Developer – IVR/Contact Center Systems (Hybrid – Harrisburg, PA)
Location: Harrisburg, PA (Hybrid – 1 day/week onsite, must be a Pennsylvania resident)
Compensation: $80,000 – $120,000 DOE (Depending on Experience)
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role
Abel Personnel is partnering with a mission-driven organization in Harrisburg, PA, to find a highly skilled Application Developer with expertise in Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems and contact center application development. This is a hybrid role (1 mandatory day in-office per week) ideal for a Pennsylvania resident who thrives in building enterprise-grade applications that support customer interaction, telephony integration, and business process automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain IVR applications using Concentrix, Intervoice Development Studio, and Interaction Composer
- Utilize ECMAScript and related JavaScript technologies to enhance user experience
- Build ancillary applications using C# and VB.NET (preferred)
- Integrate contact center systems with telephony platforms and third-party APIs
- Interpret technical specifications to build application solutions in alignment with business needs
- Conduct unit and functional testing to ensure robust, bug-free code
- Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and peer collaboration
- Maintain source code repositories and follow version control best practices
- Provide occasional on-call production support and troubleshooting
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of hands-on programming experience in enterprise environments
- Proficiency in IVR/contact center development platforms such as Concentrix or Intervoice
- Strong understanding of telephony systems, API integrations, and Java EE
- Experience with SOAP, REST, and Web Services
- Proficient in Structured Query Language (SQL) and working with relational/NOSQL databases
- Experience in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Familiarity with mainframe application development a plus
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and best practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Prior experience with C#, VB.NET, or other .NET languages
- Knowledge of system integration in highly regulated or public sector environments
Work Environment & Requirements
- Hybrid Schedule: 1 day per week in the Harrisburg, PA office
- Residency Requirement: Must be a current Pennsylvania resident
- Availability for occasional after-hours support as needed for production issues
