Job Title: Application Developer/Software Engineer
Location: Fairfax, Virginia (Onsite)
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in all phases of the software development life-cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
- Develop detailed functional and technical requirements for client-server and web software applications.
- Conduct detailed analyses and create module-level specifications for software requirements.
- Define and implement high-performance, scalable product/application architectures.
- Lead integration activities for operational, tactical, and strategic systems.
- Perform complex programming and analysis for web and mobile applications, including ETL processing.
- Write program specifications, design, code, test, and debug programming assignments.
- Document programs and ensure compliance with relevant Fairfax County standards.
- Supervise and mentor other developers on major system development projects.
- Analyze functional requirements and propose solutions for information processing requirements.
- Optimize system performance and handle custom development, COTS customization, report development, data conversion, and legacy application support.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in software development with a strong technical background in ASP.NET, C#, Python, Java, and C/C++.
- Proficiency in web technologies including CSS, JavaScript, HTML, XHTML, XML, and XSLT.
- Experience with SQL, SQL reporting, SQL Server, and database management (Oracle, MarkLogic).
- Skilled in using development tools such as Visual Studio, GIT, and CI/CD practices.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts.
- Familiarity with SharePoint, MS Power Platform, and Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS).
- Experience with Oracle APEX and MarkLogic.
- Ability to define and implement scalable software architectures and lead integration efforts.
- Experience in complex programming and analysis, including ETL processing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising and mentoring other developers.
- In-depth knowledge of .NET Framework and associated development tools.
- Experience with full life-cycle software development in a large enterprise environment.
