Our company is seeking a skilled and motivated Applications Engineer to join our growing team. We are a company in the work holding industry, we pride ourselves in helping customers succeed in their projects. As an Applications Engineer, you will play a key role in the front-end of our sales process, working closely with sales and engineering teams to provide technical expertise and support to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining processes, particularly with lathes, machining centers, and grinders. Experience in the machine tool industry is highly valued. This role is more technical than sales-oriented. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with rules and checklists, and finds satisfaction in a repeatable process. QUALIFICATIONS Technical Expertise: Knowledge of lathes, machining centers, and grinders, and machining processes. Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze customer requests, and determine the appropriate workholding solutions. Software Proficiency: Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor. Communication: Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with sales, customers, and the design team. Teamwork: Ability to work well in a small, collaborative team environment. US Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen. JOB DUTIES Manage incoming requests for quotes and work with sales to gather background information. Upload opportunities into our CRM software. Determine required workholding solutions and perform preliminary calculations to ensure technical feasibility. Provide concepts and preliminary calculations, then pass information to sales. Work with the design engineering team to ensure the design details meet customer specifications. Participate in calls with customers for larger projects, as needed.
