Marmon Industrial Energy & Infrastructure (MIEI) Cape Coral Is one of six specialty wire, cable, and tubing solution manufacturing companies located throughout North America. General Position Summary: This position is accountable for the application and design of Unitherm/Cape Coral Florida products and accessories based on information supplied by the customer or sales. This person oversees the testing, creation, modification, and distribution of engineering documents and manufacturing, instructions and creates systems and programs to increase the efficiency and accuracy of all the above tasks. The engineer will travel as needed to support sales and prospective customers that the candidate will develop along with the sales team.
Essential Duties:
- Ensure documents generated by the engineering department are timely, complete, and accurate and that any spec-related issues are resolved.
- Oversee development of new traced products utilizing the full capabilities of the MIEI group.
- Manage and prioritize engineering efforts to align with and help achieve the strategic objectives of the business unit.
- Support the sales team and customers by supplying technical and design parameters, reviewing ,modifying specifications, and recommending proper installation methods. Maintain familiarity with all technical aspects of the customers specifications.
- Guide customers in the proper selection, use, installation and troubleshooting of Unitherm/Cape Coral products by visiting customer sites.
- Support Sales and Marketing by providing technical literature and design reviews.
- Review national and international codes and standards to ensure product compliance and participate as needed in standards meetings (ISO, ASTM, IEC, FM, IEEE etc.).
- Assist in training inside sales and sales representatives.
- Interact with Manufacturing personnel to clarify or resolve issues in production.
- Primary lead for evaluation of new materials and testing of prototypes.

Education and Experience Preferred:
- Four-year Engineering or Manufacturing Technology degree (Mechanical or Material Science).
- Minimum of five years of related experience.
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
- Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization, both verbally and written.
- Familiarity and experience with Zoom, Microsoft Teams or other web meeting software.
- Candidate should have good planning and organizational skills, coupled with effective management of time.
- Candidate may have experience with CapEx and equipment procurement.
- Must embrace a continuous improvement mindset & actively participate in the advancement of the business.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access).
- Experience with engineering drawing software (e.g. AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of:
- Heat transfer
- Fluid mechanics
- Electrical power
- Material Science
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position sitting, talking, looking at a computer, charts/graphs and performing repetitive motions.
- Ability to move objects and materials of at least 25lbs.
- Ability to collaborate with manufacturing team members as needed in an environment that can be noisy.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE when on the manufacturing floor.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% - 30% of the time, mainly concentrated in the Gulf Coast region of the USA.
- Able to hear ordinary conversations and phone communications.
- Able to fly in an airplane to visit manufacturing sites and/or customer sites.
