JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
The Utah County Assessor's office is responsible for classifying all property in the county; in cooperation with the Recorder's office, associate ownership with the property; establishing a taxable value for all property subject to property taxation; and compiling this information into reports that are utilized by the Auditor's office to calculate tax rates and the Treasurer's office for collections.

The Opportunity:
Under general guidance and direction of the Appraisal Supervisor, appraises real property for ad valorem tax purposes using industry-accepted methods for determining value. Leads and trains other appraisers as a certified, residential appraiser.
Starting Pay: Appraiser III - Residential Grade 725 Step A: $32.14 - Step G: $36.96 Hourly
Appraiser II - Residential Grade 723 Step A; $27.97 - Step G: $ 32.14 Hourly
Schedule: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday
Job Qualifications:
Appraiser III - Residential
1. Associate degree or higher.
2. Three (3) years of work experience as a residential or commercial appraiser.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
1. Incumbents must possess designation as a Certified Residential or Certified General Appraisal (preference for General) with the Utah State Department of Commerce.
2. Incumbents with designation as a Certified Residential Appraiser must obtain General Ad Valorem Appraiser designation with the Utah State Tax Commission with twenty-four (24) months in the position.
Job Qualifications:
Appraiser II - Residential
1. Associate degree or higher.
2. Two (2) years of work experience related to real estate, building construction, or property appraisal.
3. A bachelors degree in a field related to real estate, building construction, or property appraisal may be accepted in lieu of the required work experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
3. Incumbents must possess a Licensed Appraiser designation with the Utah State Department of Commerce.
4. Incumbents must obtain an Ad Valorem Appraiser designation (residential or general) with the Utah State Tax Commission within twenty-four (24) months in the position.
