Data Center Facilities Management (DC)
The Data Center Facilities Management (DCF) service is aimed at providing comprehensive IT and facilities support to ensure optimal operation, maintenance, and improvement of critical infrastructure across various global sites. The services will be delivered by a dedicated team of experts with a focus on meeting established SLAs, proactive management of incidents, and continuous improvement of IT facilities processes.
The following sections define the scope of work, including resources, activities, deliverables, and service level expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of data center facilities, including HVAC, UPS, generators, fire suppression, and security systems.
- SME supports providing expert advice and guidance to ensure the successful implementation of IT processes and procedures for Data Center facilities.
- SLA management: - Negotiate and agree upon SLAs between Tech Ops and the site leadership teams, ensuring clear service delivery expectations are set. Coordinate with local smart hands and third-party vendors to ensure that services meet the associated SLA requirements
- Ensure 24/7 uptime and reliability of all critical infrastructure.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Participate in incident management and resolution activities, including SWAT calls, and escalating issues to Incident Management & Resolution (IM&R) as needed
- Configure, deploy, and maintain independent environmental monitoring systems (DCIM tools, Nlyte suite).
- Facilitate troubleshooting and escalation processes, ensuring that critical incidents are addressed swiftly and effectively.
- Communicate and coordinate with local site operations to resolve any unplanned issues or planned maintenance activities.
- Provide expertise in site construction, infrastructure upgrades, tech refresh, and geo segmentation.
- Oversee vendor management, ensuring that projects are executed effectively with beginning to end accountability and ownership.
- Provide in-depth knowledge of various hardware platforms such as HPE, Dell/EMC, Netapp, Brocade, Cisco, Juniper, F5, and HP Inc. Configure hardware for deployments and reset hardware to factory defaults.
- Support electrical and environmental systems, including providing advice on power distribution (single-phase to 3phase) and balancing electrical loads.
- Monitor and analyze facility performance metrics to optimize energy efficiency and capacity planning.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for facility-related issues.
- Manage structured cabling and environmental connectivity needs, from switches to network interface cards (NICs). Collaborate with IT and network teams to support infrastructure needs.
