The Offer Order (O2) platform is a client data platform within Schwab that drives differentiated experiences for customers, accounts, households, and advisors through various channels (, rep tools, branch tools, call center, etc). The sophisticated systems that power segmentation, client preferences and experiences use event‑driven architecture, APIs, batch, and frameworks to provide resilient and scalable capabilities. As the domain Architect, you will shape the overall strategic vision and technical roadmap for O2 within the Client Data organization, formulate and socialize policies, standards, and governance frameworks to ensure stability and operational efficiency of the platform. You will lead engagements with adjacent teams to collaborate on technology efforts in alignment with the broader Data Strategy while maintaining adherence to compliance and regulatory standards. You will work closely with a team of experienced engineers to identify and craft solutions for the current and next iteration of the O2 platform that will support future business capabilities, enabling Schwab to delight customers. You will drive an organization of engineering excellence—design, quality, observability, security, deployment and roll‑back strategies, resiliency and disaster‑recovery strategies—and cultivate a culture that challenges the status‑quo. In addition to future state, you will work with business stakeholders to understand business requirements for ongoing or upcoming work in the O2 domain, define a system architecture for new business initiatives and programs, and deliver or support high‑level and low‑level designs while participating in various Architecture Governance Boards to procure approvals. What you have Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related degree OR related practical experience 10+ years as a Solution Architect or Domain Architect; Application Modernization involving Mainframe legacy systems and cloud transformation experience. 8+ years of managing the integration of an organization’s technology strategy with business capabilities and goals to develop an effective architecture. 5+ years of leading the design, implementation, and ongoing support of architectural initiatives from inception to operational maintenance. Fosters a culture across the organization of having conversations based on organizational strategy and principles to create alignment. Ensures goals are understood and continuously worked towards across the organization. Takes ownership of decisions made in the engineering organization by helping organization members make clear decisions in alignment with organizational goals and backing decisions made. Raises awareness for how biases impact decisions and ensures accountability is practiced throughout the organization. Mentors across the organization in an open, respectful, flexible, empathetic manner. Fosters an organizational culture of mentoring by seeking out mentoring opportunities for themselves and others, and supports others in their growth as mentors. Leads strategic organizational decisions and plans. Consistently works at a strategic level, influencing decisions to achieve organizational alignment on major goals. Strong architecture, critical thinking, and problem‑solving abilities, along with an ability to lead sometimes ambiguous, and constantly evolving requirements. Strong technological affinity and experience, as well as attention to detail and a passion for quality is required. Ability to communicate effectively with peers and executives translating technical language into actionable plans. Strong collaborative qualities and a positive demeanor. You can transition and cross‑train peer teams on your designs and technology development. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment across multiple time zones and locations. Ability to effectively transition your design reference materials to engineering organizations, and engineered solutions. Preferred Qualifications Strong understanding of various applications, servers and network security best practices Experience designing mission‑critical, 24x7 systems Working proficiency with SCM and DevOps tool suites; examples include Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jenkins, Concourse, etc. Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum, experience adopting or leading continuous integration and continuous delivery concepts and frameworks Experience in the Financial Services industry. Google Professional, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solution Architect Cloud Provider Certifications 4+ years utilizing services from cloud platforms to support and improve organizational functions 3+ years utilizing code‑based methods to manage deployments. 2+ years experience with data pipelines and storage systems for data mining, analytics, and machine learning, prioritizing compliance, security, and scalability 2+ years experience with AI capabilities Previous experience in a highly regulated environment with appreciation for audit and regulatory principles will benefit the applicant.
