Overview Job Description - Architectural Design Assistant (2504586) Qualifications Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Bachelor\'s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in architecture or related field. Software proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Word. Experience formatting and producing Construction Drawings. Experience with general commercial, construction, and healthcare construction practice experience. Familiarity with NYS Building codes. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, such as Autodesk Revit, and 3D modeling tools, including SketchUp. Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop) and advanced familiarity with Bluebeam Revu for digital markup and document control. Brief Description The Architectural Design Assistant is a vital role offering broad exposure across all project phases. It is ideal for an individual actively pursuing architectural licensure (AXP hours are available) or looking to gain diverse professional experience in commercial and healthcare construction. Duties and Responsibilities Produce and manage construction drawings including detail plans, elevations, sections, and specifications consistent with Bidding standards for vendors and contractors. Assist in the preparation of illustrated design drawings and materials for client and stakeholder presentations. Coordinate project logistics, scheduling, and quality assurance. This includes: Working with outside furniture and millwork vendors to ensure quality, functionality, and on-time delivery. Maintaining up-to-date project status and file organization. Conduct essential Building Code research (NYS codes): Expedite and track regulatory approvals, including HSC and Mart permits, and acquisition of the Certificate of Occupancy as required by the Project Architect. Document existing conditions through field measurement, photography, and accurate drawing using AutoCAD. Ensure final base plans for completed projects are coordinated with the database management teams (ATG). Other duties as assigned.
