Area Plant Manager Apply
Position Summary
The Plant Area Manager is responsible for driving Continuous Improvement in leading the performance of their area of responsibility by establishing area goals and developing process and equipment improvements that improve Safety and impact all three areas of the OEE (Availability, Performance, and Quality). They need to that provide shift superintendents, and plant associates with the tools and support to enable them to grow and achieve the area goals.that allow them to execute functions to meet goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product, including changes in working conditions and the use of equipment to increase production efficiency.
- Support and drive the continuous improvement and lean initiatives for your areaAssist with the understanding and Root Cause of any customer complaints related to your area, implementing corrective & preventative actions as appropriate
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Initiate and direct activities toward the development and implementation of employee training programs with the objective of increasing job knowledge and safety in all production departments.Develop appropriate Skills Matrices with associated Training & Development plans for area employees.
- Be the Lead for problem solving, standard work implementation, leader standard work deployment
- Direct and coach on effective Root cause assessments for defects, rate loss and equipment failures
- Accountable for embedding a culture of Continuous Improvement and utilizing Lean/6-Sigma tools and techniques for sustained improvement to achieve Area Goals.sustained, directed improvement of area
- Ambassador of safety through process improvement and equipment design
- Documentation of plant performance through data collection Ensures that sufficiently detailed plant data is being captured to enable informed decisions and effective problem solving and improvement activities.
- Work with accounting to develop annual budgets for the assigned departments.
- Lead and coordinate equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement or upgrade of equipment machines. Manage capital expense for your department.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or science fields preferred.
- 5 years of supervisory experience in production management or other operations related -activity. Process Engineering experience preferred.
- Six Sigma training with tangible application preferred
- Strong familiarity with Continuous Improvement and lean tools.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
