Area VP/OperationsThe Area VP/Operations (AVPO) will work closely with the Division President (DP)/Regional President (RP)/Regional VP-Operations (RVPO) to lead strategic initiatives towards strengthening efforts in carrying out the Bristol Hospice mission and assuring long-term growth and sustainability.Essential Job Functions:Assist the DP/RP/RVPO in orchestrating the development of operational plans and direct the Executive Directors in the implementation of strategic actions toward achieving goalsIdentify and direct teams, as needed, to enhance efforts in achieving goalsWork closely with the DP/RP/RVPO in setting goals, direction and policies and procedures, maintaining consistence and coherence in purpose and communication among all staff and constituentsCollaborate closely with the DP/RP/RVPO to create and implement budgets and financial strategies to achieve goalsProvide operational leadership in the strategic planning, development and direction of Bristol Hospice locationsImplement change initiatives designed to enhance individual and organizational knowledge and performanceAssist the Executive Directors in facilitating the integration and communication among the location departments to remove obstacles, improve responsiveness and enhance decision makingProvide motivational and inspirational leadership for Bristol Executive Directors toward sustaining a cohesive industry driven cultureProvide oversight and direction for business planning operationsEnsure that effective management practices are in place at all levelsMonitor progress toward achieving operational and financial goals; to communicate objectives and expectations to Executive DirectorsCollaborate with the DP/RP/RVPO for initiation and improvement of administrative, technological and financial activities that support the locationsCollaborate with Regional VP Clinical Operations/Regional Director Clinical Operations to ensure all clinical and quality goals of Bristol Hospice are metQualificationsRequired Experience:Must have three (3) years of experience in hospice/homecare managementRequired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Must demonstrate leadership in program development and operations managementMust possess the ability to provide business needs analysis and strategic planning with senior staffMust have experience in supervising and managing departments to meet revenue and expense budgetsMust possess a supervision and management style that empowers Executive Directors to creatively lead their programsMust demonstrate proven program/project/resource development and managementMust be results driven, team-oriented and an individual/organizational capacity builderMust have excellent communication, interpersonal, marketing and public relations skillsOther Requirements:Must be flexible in work hoursWork Environment:Must comply with company policies, procedures and processes in addition to Hospice rules and regulationsMust be dependable and flexible in work scheduleMust comply with harassment and discrimination policiesMust foster good working relationshipsMust be able to travel up to 75% of the time, often without noticeMust be a licensed driver with licensed automobile that is insured in accordance with organization/state requirements and is in good working orderMust be willing to submit to a criminal background check as well as a drug/alcohol screening upon hire and periodically thereafterPhysical Environment:May have to travel in inclement weatherMay be required to stand and sit for long periodsMust be able to hear and see with or without aidMust be able to read and follow instructions, as required
