Field Documentation & Coordination

  • Accurately document all field deviations, scope changes, and physical installation locations on construction blueprints using "redline" markups.
  • Collect and organize all final construction data, including cable routes, fiber counts, equipment placement (e.g., cabinets, pedestals, handholes), and splice locations for both Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) infrastructure.
  • Conduct necessary site visits to verify the accuracy of the installed infrastructure against the redline drawings and resolve any discrepancies prior to final submission.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the construction field teams and the drafting/engineering teams, ensuring a clear understanding of the project's "as-built" condition is maintained across all parties.

Drafting and Submission

  • Utilize KMZ software to convert field redlines and collected data into professional, finalized As-Built drawings.
  • Perform thorough Quality Control (QC) reviews of As-Built packages to guarantee they meet company standards, client specifications, and local code requirements.
  • Compile and organize the complete As-Built documentation package, including final drawings, test results, material lists, photographs, and other required closeout materials.
  • Coordinate the timely submission of As-Built packages to the client and/or regulatory bodies to ensure final project acceptance and invoicing.

Process Improvement

  • Support the development and refinement of internal documentation standards and procedures for capturing and processing As-Built information efficiently.
  • Provide technical training and support to field personnel on best practices for accurate and consistent redline documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Drafting, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in telecommunications construction, civil construction, utility mapping, or a related field with a focus on project documentation or drafting.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficiency in KMZ & PDF software is required.
    • Working knowledge of Outside Plant (OSP) construction methods, including fiber optic, aerial, and underground utility installation.
    • Experience interpreting construction blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
    • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Experience with ArcGIS is preferred.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with field crews, engineers, and clients.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
