You will diagnose vehicle malfunctions, recommending and performing appropriate diagnostic repairs.Other Responsibilities of the Auto Technician Role IncludeExamining vehicles to diagnose necessary repairsCommunicating maintenance needs to Service AdvisorNotifying Service Advisor if work cannot be completed as promisedDocumenting all work performed clearly and accuratelyAttending and successfully completing factory training as requiredKeeping informed of factory technical bulletinsUnderstanding and following federal, state and local regulationsMeeting all requirements of state and federal law for automobile repairAs a GM certified technician you must have previous automotive knowledge and experience. You must have the ability to comprehend instructions and have the drive to learn new automotive knowledge. You must be an energetic problem solver with a strong technical aptitude who is customer service focused and communicates effectively.
