Summary

This position is responsible for managing and servicing a consumer loans delinquent portfolio. Review all pertinent information provided by member for plan of action and ultimately resolve the delinquent status of accounts.


Essential Functions

  1. Manage a portfolio of delinquent loans that range from 10-150 days past due.
  2. Monitor and maintain accurate information on all loans through delinquency process.
  3. Resolve delinquency effectively and according to department, credit union and FDCPA guidelines.
  4. Process necessary paperwork for loan extensions, modifications and CPI related matters.
  5. Effectively navigate through collections software, host system and a multitude of internet-based software.
  6. Skip trace as needed.
  7. Meet daily goals and expectations.
  8. Additional duties as assigned.


Required Skills and Abilities

  1. Ability to speak and present in an effective manner.
  2. Ability to communicate on the telephone as well as in person and in correspondence.
  3. Overview of Role functions:

95% of total working time is spent on the telephone.

5% of total working time is spent on clerical duties.

4. Must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.

5. Must be self-motivated, self-driven, attentive to detail, collaborative and focused.

6. Must have basic mathematical skills, able to compile information, and make sound, common sense decisions.

7. Able to work a flexible schedule that includes evening and Saturday shifts as assigned.


Requirements:

Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent is required
  2. Minimum 1-year collection or comparable work experience.
  3. Prefer experience in servicing all type of defaulted consumer loans.
  4. Must have a working knowledge of basic collection related functions with the ability to learn and develop skills as required in different areas of the Asset Recovery Department.
  5. Must be familiar with “Fair Debt Collections Practices Act” and all applicable state and federal laws that pertain to collections.
  6. PC skills in Word and Excel are desirable.

Work Environment

  1. General office environment: works generally at a desk in a well-lighted, air-conditioned cubicle/office, with moderate noise levels.
  2. Must, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.

Physical Requirements (performed with or without accommodations)

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Activities require a significant amount of sitting at office and work desks and in front of a computer monitor.
  2. Continuous sitting for approximately six to seven hours per day.
  3. Intermittent lifting (above the head).

Work Location
This is an on-site position at our Corporate Headquarters in Yuba City, CA. This position is expected to work evenings and Saturday shifts.


Compensation Range

The company anticipates offering an hourly range between $22.78 and $26.08 for this position at the time of hire. This range includes base salary (or hourly wages) and does not include possible overtime for non-exempt employees or any applicable performance-based incentives or commissions.


Annual Merit Increase

Employees are eligible for a discretionary yearly merit-based salary adjustment, based on individual performance and company results.
