POSITION SUMMARY The Assistant Athletic Director for Media & Communications leads all strategic communication, sports information, creative media, digital content, and live production efforts for Missouri Baptist University Athletics. This position ensures high quality storytelling, brand consistency, and comprehensive coverage of 30+ varsity programs while supervising a team of four Graduate Assistants and coordinating with coaches, campus partners, and external media outlets. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Sports Information Leadership — Direct all statistical reporting, game coverage, record keeping, and historical archiving for MBU Athletics. Oversee timely and accurate submission of results to the NAIA, AMC, and national outlets. Manage media relations, press releases, and sport-specific communication strategies. Creative & Digital Media Oversight — Lead the creation of digital content including graphics, photography, video features, social media campaigns, and brand-aligned storytelling. Maintain consistent visual identity across platforms and guide creative direction for all athletics media. Live Event Production & Streaming — Oversee production of home events including live streaming, broadcast quality, camera operations, replay systems, and audio/visual standards. Coordinate staffing, run-of-show, and technical execution for high-visibility events. Team Leadership & Supervision — Supervise four Graduate Assistants in sports information, creative media, and production roles. Provide training, scheduling, mentorship, and performance evaluation. Build a collaborative, service-oriented media team. MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, digital media, sport management, or related field. Two years of experience in athletics communications, sports information, media production, or digital content creation. PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Master’s degree. Experience in collegiate athletics communications (NAIA or NCAA). Proficiency with statistical software (StatCrew, Presto, Genius), Adobe Creative Suite, and live production platforms. CRITICAL SKILLS & EXPERTISE Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership and team-building abilities. Proficiency in digital storytelling, graphic design, photography, and video production. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced athletics environment. Knowledge of media relations, brand management, and social media strategy. Technical competency with live production equipment and streaming workflows.
