Quest Group is actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support the Controller in managing the company's financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance. The ideal candidate is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Aspiring CPA with strong technical accounting knowledge and progressive accounting experience, preferably within the real estate development, construction, or related industries . This role requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands project-based accounting, and has experience managing multiple entities, construction draws, development budgets, and complex financial reporting. Key Responsibilities General Accounting Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process. Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of all financial records. Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts. Analyze financial results and provide meaningful variance analysis. Job cost accounting Percentage-of-completion accounting (where applicable) Development accounting Multi-entity accounting Fixed asset accounting Oversee accounting for multiple development projects and legal entities. Monitor project costs, budgets, capitalization, and development expenditures. Review and reconcile construction draws, lender funding requests, and owner equity contributions. Coordinate accounting for land acquisitions, development costs, and project closeouts. Track construction-in-progress (CIP) and capitalization of completed assets. Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate job cost reporting and budget monitoring. Assist with joint venture accounting and investor reporting, as applicable. Cash Management Monitor company cash flow and project funding requirements. Review bank reconciliations and oversee treasury activities. Assist with forecasting cash needs for development projects. Internal Controls & Compliance Maintain and improve internal accounting controls and financial processes. Ensure compliance with company policies, lender requirements, and regulatory reporting. Coordinate annual financial statement audits and tax preparation with external auditors and tax advisors. Support implementation and documentation of accounting policies and procedures. Systems & Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and reporting efficiencies. Participate in ERP implementations, upgrades, and system integrations. Develop standardized reporting tools and dashboards. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA designation strongly preferred (or actively pursuing CPA with expected completion date). Minimum 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience. Minimum 2-3 years in a supervisory or management role. Experience in real estate development, construction, homebuilding, commercial real estate, or related industries is strongly preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
