Assistant Controller Salary: $130,000- $145,000 Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Assistant Controller to support the Controller in overseeing the company's accounting operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, internal controls, and strategic financial planning. This position will partner closely with operations and executive leadership to identify cost‑saving opportunities, improve financial performance, and support business growth. The ideal candidate has a strong manufacturing accounting background, experience with cost accounting and inventory management, and a proven ability to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies. Financial Leadership & Reporting Assist in managing the daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Support month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance. Assist with annual audits, tax reporting, and regulatory compliance. Manufacturing & Cost Accounting Oversee standard costing, inventory valuation, bill of materials (BOM) accuracy, and manufacturing variances. Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Monitor inventory transactions, cycle counts, and physical inventories to ensure financial accuracy. Partner with production and operations teams to improve manufacturing efficiencies and reduce operating costs. Evaluate production performance and provide financial analysis to support operational decision‑making. Strategic Planning & Cost Savings Identify, recommend, and implement cost‑saving initiatives across manufacturing and corporate operations. Develop financial models and profitability analyses to support strategic business decisions. Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability. Support capital investment analyses and return‑on‑investment (ROI) evaluations for equipment, automation, and operational improvements. Collaborate with cross‑functional leaders to drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence. Leadership & Team Development Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Assist in establishing departmental goals, performance expectations, and professional development plans. Promote collaboration between Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Production teams.
