Assistant Controller

Manufacturing Assistant Controller Needed-Cleveland, OH Manages/coordinates the month-end and year-end close process. Manages accounting of inventory including standard cost system and required valuation-related reserves (E&O, FIFO). Responsible for the accounting of Fixed Assets. Preparation and distribution of Financial Statement Packet. Supervise Staff Accountant. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Manage/coordinate the month-end close process Assist in the preparation of the financial statements, including budgets & forecasts Prepare and record monthly journal entries and complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations. Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for financial statement preparation and audit purposes. Manage the accounting for inventory. Maintain the standard cost system, report on operating variances from standard, establish the reval FIFO & E&O reserve and reconcile the book to perpetual inventory values. Work with Material and Inventory Control Manager to perform formal time studies as required. Assist in maintaining all accounting files and records for multiple Companies/Subsidiaries.
