Executive Recruiter at Houston City Personnel

Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting activities including maintenance of the general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Oversee day‑to‑day financial operations with the support of the Project Accountant, including bill processing, approvals and payments
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Ensure compliance with US GAAP and tax regulations
Oversee periodic draws against development loans and bonds, ensuring completeness, compliance and project liquidity needs are met
Lead calculation, preparation and payment of monthly internal project billings
Participate in preparation and analysis of budgets, forecasts and budget vs. actuals reporting
Assist with the preparation, review and administration of internal and external reporting requirements for investors, lenders, banks, etc.
Support the development and marketing teams on project financial and accounting matters
Support the internal financial analysts to inform project cash flow and returns projections
Liaise with external auditor and tax accountants, overseeing project audits and tax return preparation
Oversee vendor onboarding, communication and compliance
Oversee 1099 preparation and remittance
Special Projects / Other
Support the Controller, Directors and Owners with special projects as needed
Assist with creation, documentation and implementation of various accounting policies and procedures
Oversee internal financial controls and procedures, ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial reporting
Leadership
Supervise Accounting staff to support growth and professional development
Provide leadership toward additional value‑added activities and support operational and departmental excellence, while fostering teamwork across functions
Qualifications
BBA Accounting required
Strong technical skills and US GAAP expertise
Effective business writing, strong analytical skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong quantitative and technical/computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required; experience with Intacct a plus
Must be a team player who will work well in a small company environment
Compensation
We offer a very competitive compensation package, commensurate with experience, including a 401(k) plan with company match. The company also pays 100% of health insurance premiums for its employees and their dependents. In addition, we have a program in place to share the financial performance of our real estate development projects with all members of the company. We also offer the ability to work remotely as approved by management.
