Our client, a growing and well-established manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller / Controller to join its leadership team. This is a newly created position designed to support the continued growth of the business and offers a clear path to advancement into the Controller role. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Assistant Controller will play a key role in the financial management of the organization while partnering closely with Sales, Operations, and executive leadership. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working beyond the numbers, contributing to business strategy, operational performance, and continuous process improvement. JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT CONTROLLER / CONTROLLER SALARY: $120K - $150K PLUS 15% BONUS LOCATION: HUMBLE/NORTH HOUSTON AREA About this role: Newly created leadership position with a defined career path to Controller Direct mentorship from an experienced CFO Highly visible role with regular interaction across executive leadership, Sales, and Operations Opportunity to influence business decisions and operational profitability Stable, private equity-backed company with an outstanding reputation Competitive compensation package including base salary and 15% bonus opportunity Position Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Supervise the accounting team, including Accounts Payable (2), Senior Accountant, Payroll, and Human Resources . Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and month-end close. Manage inventory accounting, product costing, and cost accounting activities. Analyze margins, profitability, manufacturing costs, and operational performance to support strategic business decisions. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis. Strengthen internal controls, accounting processes, and financial reporting procedures. Partner closely with Sales and Operations to improve communication, reporting, and overall business performance. Support audit activities and special projects as assigned by executive leadership. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities. Previous experience as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or Assistant Controller. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a collaborative management style. Preferred Experience CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA certification. Public accounting experience is a plus. Strong background within manufacturing, industrial products, piping, valves, fabrication, or similar inventory-intensive industries . Experience with: Cost accounting Product costing Inventory accounting Margin and profitability analysis Operational finance and KPI reporting #J-18808-Ljbffr
