We are seeking a hands‑on Assistant Controller / Accounting Manager for a mid‑sized integrated advertising agency to support day‑to‑day accounting and financial operations across the media agency business. This person will work closely with the VP, Finance, and leadership team to help manage month‑end close, general ledger accounting, payroll, benefits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The right person will have 7+ years of accounting experience, strong debits and credits knowledge, QuickBooks experience and ADP payroll experience. Media agency experience is strongly preferred, especially with client billing, media vendor payments, media reconciliation and commission‑based billing. Responsibilities Support month‑end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on time Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, client billing, vendor payments, and cash application Manage payroll and benefits administration, including ADP, employee changes, payroll review, benefit invoices, and related reconciliations Work with media, billing, and reconciliation teams to ensure media invoices, vendor payments, and client billings are accurate Review and reconcile media vendor invoices against campaign activity, buys, and billing records Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, P&L reporting, AP aging, AR aging, and other management reports Support a fast close process and help meet parent company reporting deadlines Assist with audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, backup documentation, and responding to auditor requests Partner with HR and leadership on payroll, benefits, 401(k), and employee‑related reporting as needed Help improve accounting processes, controls, and workflows as the agency continues to grow Be willing to work on the details while also understanding the bigger financial picture of the business Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA preferred 7+ years of accounting experience required, ideally in a media agency, advertising agency, or service‑based business QuickBooks and ADP payroll experience required Strong hands‑on accounting skills, including debits and credits, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month‑end closings Experience with payroll, benefits, AP, AR, client billing, vendor payments, and financial reporting Media billing, vendor reconciliation, and commission‑based billing experience strongly preferred Strong Excel skills and ability to work in a lean, fast‑paced, hands‑on environment NetSuite experience is a plus Nice to Have Experience with external audits Experience working with a parent company or holding company reporting structure Familiarity with media buying, media planning, client reconciliations, and vendor invoice tracking Collaborative personality and ability to work well with a close‑knit, long‑tenured team #J-18808-Ljbffr
