Key Responsibilities for the Assistant Controller * Lead and support month-end close activities * Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements, budgets, and management reports * Reconcile and validate balance sheet and income statement accounts * Monitor working capital and assist with project cash management, transfers, and wire activity * Assemble, submit, and track construction loan draws and equity funding requests * Support budgeting, forecasting, and project-level financial reporting * Analyze job cost reporting and forecast project performance * Partner closely with Development Directors to manage project budgets and financial outcomes * Help enhance accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency * Assist with audits, compliance requirements, and special projects * Support the Controller with leadership initiatives and department development What We're Looking For in the Assistant Controller * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field * CPA preferred, but not required * 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with full-cycle accounting responsibilities * Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting * Experience with Sage or similar ERP/accounting software * Construction, development, project accounting, or real estate industry experience is highly preferred * Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment Make an Impact This role is ideal for an accounting professional who wants more than just a desk job.
