Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Assistant Controller to assist in our financial operations and ensure accuracy in our accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting, with expertise in cost accounting, financial reporting, and ERP systems. Reporting to our Controller, the Assistant Controller will manage complex financial tasks, support strategic decision‑making, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end/year‑end closings. Be primary contact for annual audit and complete the auditor’s prepared by client requests. Manage the Staff Accountant who oversees accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions are posted. Conduct cost accounting tasks, including inventory valuation, cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis, and production cost tracking specific to electronics manufacturing. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic financial planning. Utilize current accounting software in Global Shop Solutions ERP to streamline financial processes. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide financial insights for manufacturing operations, such as cost optimization and inventory management. Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations, and fixed asset schedules. Perform ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed to support leadership decisions. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably a manufacturing or electronics industry. Strong proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. In‑depth knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting standards. Experience with inventory reconciliation, COGS analysis, and manufacturing cost accounting. Proven ability to manage month‑end closings, audits, and financial statement preparation. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including operations and leadership. Familiarity with payroll processing and tax compliance is a plus. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Skills Experience in the electronics manufacturing industry or similar sectors. Proficiency with advanced ERP functionalities specific to manufacturing processes. Leadership experience in mentoring or supervising junior accounting staff.
