The Assistant Hospital Administrator supports the Hospital Administrator in leading State Hospital North (SHN) and serves as a key member of the Executive Governing Body. This role ensures that SHN's mission, vision, and values are consistently upheld and serves as the lead for all clinical aspects of hospital operations. The Assistant Hospital Administrator provides executive leadership to four hospital departments, directly supervising department managers and ensuring effective operations, staff performance, and high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include keeping the Hospital Administrator informed of key developments, challenges, and achievements. State Hospital North in Orofino, Idaho, is a licensed 55-bed psychiatric hospital providing primarily involuntary inpatient treatment for adults in psychiatric crisis who are committed to the Department of Health and Welfare. State Hospital North collaborates with patients, their families, and the referring regional behavioral health centers to develop targeted goals and objectives for the individual's treatment episode while simultaneously focusing on critical supports and arrangements for follow-up care after discharge. This position may be eligible for limited telework after successful completion of probation and necessary training. Approval to telecommute is not guaranteed and subject to termination at any time. Typically gained by a bachelor's degree in business management or equivalent and demonstrated leadership skills through approximately one year experience managing a major program and staff.Experience developing and controlling an operating budget. Typically gained by one year experience developing and controlling an operating budget.Experience developing and implementing operational policies and procedures. Typically gained by one year experience with primary responsibility for either developing and implementing operational policies and procedures or directing staff in the implementation of these program activities.Experience interpreting and applying laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Typically gained by at least one year experience with responsibility for reviewing documents or actions for compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures; OR experience explaining to others how laws, regulations, policies and procedures apply to specific situations.Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.Supervisor experience.
