A local specialty full-service restaurant is looking for someone to join their team as an Assistant Kitchen Manager. Use your expertise to deliver exceptional dining experiences and contribute to their kitchen's success.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Head Chef and Kitchen Manager in daily kitchen operations and management.
- Assist in planning and executing menu items while maintaining high food quality and presentation standards.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, emphasizing proper cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation protocols.
- Manage kitchen inventory, monitor stock levels, and coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment of ingredients and supplies.
- Empower the kitchen team by fostering a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and growth.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Oversee food preparation processes and ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation.
- Contribute to cost control efforts by minimizing food waste and optimizing ingredient usage.
- Assist in scheduling kitchen staff to maximize efficiency while maintaining labor budgets.
Qualifications:- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an assistant kitchen manager or sous chef within a scratch kitchen environment.
- No more than 2 employers in the last 5 years or 3 in the last 9 years. (Exceptions for closed or sold restaurants).
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and train a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle high-stress situations effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Self-motivation.
- Ability to oversee inventory control and perform basic financial tasks.
- Proficiency with kitchen equipment and restaurant management software.
- Creative ability to work with the community and build sales.
- Knowledge of finances, budgetting, and accounting within restaurants.
