Position Overview Old York Cellars is seeking a full time Hospitality Lead to help oversee daily operations and deliver an exceptional guest experience in our tasting room and hospitality spaces. This role blends service leadership with hands-on hospitality, guiding staff during service while ensuring guests receive attentive, welcoming, and memorable experiences. The Hospitality Lead works closely with the Hospitality Manager and acts as a shift leader or Manager on Duty when assigned. This position is ideal for an experienced hospitality professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys leading a team while creating outstanding guest experiences. Responsibilities Manage daily service shifts and oversee hospitality staff Assign service sections and ensure smooth operational flow Serve as Manager on Duty when scheduled Ensure all opening and closing procedures are properly executed Maintain service standards and provide real time coaching to staff Guest Experience Ensure every guest receives attentive and welcoming service Handle guest concerns and service recovery professionally Maintain a positive, hospitality first environment throughout the winery Monitor service pacing and team performance during busy periods Supervise teams of 10 or more hospitality employees during shifts Provide guidance, coaching, and support to staff members Assist with training and mentoring new employees Maintain a calm and solutions focused approach during high volume service Sales and Guest Engagement Drive wine sales and promote wine club memberships Encourage upselling of tastings, experiences, and bottles to go Monitor sales goals and support staff in achieving them Events and Experiences Assist with oversight of winery events and special experiences Support operational coordination during events and busy weekends Work with management to ensure successful execution of winery programs Administrative Responsibilities Execute operational plans and schedules created by management Assist with cash handling and POS reconciliation when assigned Monitor and maintain inventory of non wine items and service supplies Document guest incidents or service issues when acting as Manager on Duty Qualifications Minimum 5 years of hospitality experience Previous leadership or supervisory experience required Strong ability to remain calm under pressure during busy service periods Hospitality first mindset with strong guest service instincts Excellent communication and team leadership skills Basic understanding of reservation and POS systems preferred Wine knowledge preferred but not required Ability to stand for long periods of time & be comfortable working on your feet Must be able to lift 50lbs. repeatedly Schedule 40 - 45 hours per week Wednesday through Sunday schedule required Must be available to work weekends and peak hospitality periods Compensation and Benefits $17 per hour plus tips with a guaranteed minimum of $20 - $25 per hour Health, vision, and dental benefits Employee wine and food discounts Our Hospitality Philosophy At Old York Cellars, hospitality means creating an experience where guests feel welcomed, relaxed, and excited to explore wine.
