Job Title: Assistant Nurse Manager, Med/Surg (M/S)

Schedule: Mon-Sun, 11:00 AM 7:30 PM (Weekends as needed)
Salary: $186,000 $267,200 per year
Bonuses: 10% sign-on bonus; 7.5% annual bonuses

- Day-to-day Operations: Oversee clinical operations, ensuring adherence to practice standards, staffing needs, payroll, budgeting, and fiscal management, while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
- Staff Development: Supervise a unit of 20-60+ employees, focusing on staff development through the implementation of action plans to improve patient care and clinical operations.
- Resource Management: Manage staffing based on patient population and care needs to optimize patient outcomes, while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Risk & Quality Management: Supervise unit operations including human resources management, safety programs, and risk management initiatives, while ensuring high standards of patient care and quality service.
- Patient Care Coordination: Collaborate with healthcare providers within and outside the unit to deliver coordinated, customer-focused care. Research and adopt best practices, and resolve patient/family concerns regarding care.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Primarily M-F with occasional weekend shifts as required.
- Experience:
- Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience required.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as Charge Nurse, Preceptor, or in a leadership role such as Quality Improvement Champion.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. High school diploma or GED required.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) License in California required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Additional Requirements:
- Completion of training as Preceptor or Charge Nurse.
- Demonstrated expertise in quality improvement, clinical care delivery, staffing, and budgeting.
- Familiarity with Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications may be required for certain units.
- Must be able to work within a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred; MSN or DNP highly desirable.
- Certifications: ACLS certification strongly preferred.
