Job Description/Responsibilities
The School of Nursing at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is seeking candidates for two (2) full-time, tenure-track nursing faculty positions. SIUE is classified by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education as a Doctoral/Professional University, and as such, our institution is dedicated to exemplary student instruction. As a Tenure track faculty in the School of Nursing, there is an expectation to demonstrate competent teaching across the curriculum, including didactic, clinical, and online setting and in our graduate and/or undergraduate programs. Additionally, tenure track faculty are expected to maintain a program of scholarship relevant to the practice of nursing, the nursing profession, and/or the education of nurses and to engage in service to the School of Nursing and other constituencies relevant to the mission of the organization.

The School of Nursing faculty and staff educate, empower, and support diverse learners to achieve excellence in nursing. Through this mission statement, the faculty in the School of Nursing share the collective vision to educated and develop nurses as care providers, scholars, and leaders able to meet the health challenges of a diverse and complex world.

In support of our mission, we take full advantage of our central location between rural Illinois and Metropolitan Saint Louis and offer a diverse range of clinical learning opportunities for students. A significant point of pride for our school is the SIUE We Care Clinic, located on the East Saint Louis campus just 25 miles from SIUEs main campus. The clinic offers a full range of services to patients in a historically underserved area. The clinic exemplifies our mission and its commitment to health equity, diversity and community engagement. Other points of pride are the innovative teaching strategies that have received local, state, and national scholar recognition through grants and awards. Since 2012, the School of Nursing faculty has been involved in research and program grant funding totaling nearly 33.2 million dollars. Funding support for faculty research has included prestigious sources such as the U.S. Department of Health, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, National Institutes of Health, Illinois Board of Higher Education, Illinois Department of Public Health, the Archdiocese of St. Louis, and the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

Minimum Qualifications
Preferred candidates must have teaching experience and/or clinical experience in undergraduate or graduate programs in the areas of medical-surgical, psychiatric-mental health, public health or nurse anesthesia. A Masters in Nursing, a Doctorate (PhD, EdD, DNS, DNSc, DNP) is required for faculty position. Teaching experience and research experience preferred. Illinois and Missouri licenses or eligibility for such licenses is required.
