General Description/ Primary Purpose :
The Departmentof Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum invites applications for a tenure-earning Assistant Professor for TESOLposition at the University of North Florida to begin on August 2, 2024. We are seeking an innovative candidate with a vision and provenrecord of advocating for the diverse needs of students who can build upon and expand our TESOLprogram.

The successful candidate will be expected to advance the program's goals by maintaining their research agendaand contributing to graduate and undergraduate teaching and mentoring.

Candidates are expected to have a record ofscholarly productivity commensurate with experience, including a record of publications and/or potential for publication in top and keyprofessional peer-reviewed journals and the potential for or a record of securing externally funded grants.

A strongcandidate will have a demonstrated a record of excellence in teaching and student success and in developing expertise in addressing criticalneeds in TESOL.

This is a 9-month, tenure-track position with a typical teaching load of twoto three courses per semester.

Faculty Position Required Qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate in ESOL/TESOL Education (or aclosely related field) by the time of appointment.
  • At least three (3) years of teaching experience with PK-12 students inschools.
  • Evidence of publication in professional outlets, commensurate with experience.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence andeffectiveness in higher education, commensurate with experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to issues of equity for diverselearners.
