Overview We're looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our Technology Systems team at Egan! In this role, you'll serve as the primary driver of project success, providing management and leadership across multiple Technology Systems projects, ensuring alignment with Egan's Milestone Based Delivery (MBD) standards. You will lead cross-functional teams, navigate operational challenges, and foster partnerships, transforming technical requirements into high-value outcomes for our clients. You will balance financial oversight with a leadership approach that emphasizes people, acting as a bridge between the field and the office to support Egans Mission, Vision, and Values while developing leadership maturity for long-term growth. Responsibilities Project Management & Lifecycle Execution Project Setup & Planning: Assist the project team in planning, setting up, and managing construction projects from kickoff to closeout. MBD Compliance: Navigate and utilize Egan's proprietary project management systems, adhering to the Milestone Based Delivery framework. Document Control: Conduct construction document analysis to develop clear, consistent interpretations. Oversee the generation and updating of As-Built documents. Small Project Leadership: Manage small-to-large projects, assuming primary leadership responsibilities as you progress in the role. Resource Coordination: Assist in pre-planning meetings and maximize resources during the buyout process to support field performance. Financial & Administrative Management Project Documentation: Prepare and process day-to-day administrative items including requisitions, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings. Cost Management: Prepare billings, project cost forecasts, change orders, and change request pricing using ERP and Google Workspace. Profitability: Assist in managing financial aspects of contracts to maintain profitability and positive cash flow while sustaining client relationships. Procurement: Purchase and schedule delivery of equipment and materials; analyze alternatives to maintain budget and schedule. Field Operations & Collaboration Problem Solving: Advise on potential problems, schedule interferences, and difficulties; proactively learn how to mitigate issues. Field Liaison: Visit job sites and customer sites as required. Build strong relationships with field personnel and respect diverse expertise on-site. Field Safety: Promote safety as a priority by collaborating with Field Colleagues on safety initiatives. Continuous Improvement: Participate in project coordination and coordinate with owner/architect/engineer teams; pursue additional work through change orders and design issue resolution. Internal Partnership: Serve as a knowledge ambassador, collaborating with other Egan groups to support the company mission. Professional Development & Leadership Risk Management: Identify and address serious situations with corrective actions. Safety Culture: Promote a positive safety culture by communicating and enforcing safety policies. Continuous Learning: Proactively pursue career development and leverage internal resources and initiatives to advance toward a PM role. Requirements Experience: 2+ years in construction, limited energy, or electrical/HVAC, or a 2-year construction education program. Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Google Suite and/or MS Office (Excel, Word). ERP Experience: Experience with ERP systems and integration across multiple systems. Reading Blueprints: Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules. Industry Knowledge: Understanding of project functions including development, preconstruction, means and methods, planning, scheduling, cost reporting, and budgeting. Software Proficiency: Strong MS Office and Google Suite skills; quick learner of new internal tools. Compliance & Safety: OSHA-30 certification within six months of hire (if not already certified). Licensing: Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record. Qualifications Relationship Building: Ability to build strong relationships with customers, consultants, prime contractors, and internal partners; strong customer service. Character & Accountability: Approachable, respectful, accountable, and easy to work with. Professionalism: Courteous, professional, and motivated to deliver quality work.
